Flannel Friday Fairy Tales

Earlier this year in Wiggleworms Story Time we explored fractured fairy tales (see Fairy Tales with a Twist).

Before we read each fractured tale I did a flannel board of the original story to make sure my preschoolers knew what was going on!  This worked great and with the ‘real’ version fresh in their minds they were able to identify the changes in the fractured versions.

To tell the original story behind the book Huff & Puff  by Claudia Rueda I made a set for The Three Little Pigs:

And to tell the story behind Goldilocks and Just One Bear by Leigh Hodgkinson I created a set for Goldilocks and the Three Bears:

Of course these could be used on their own or with any of your own favorite ‘twisted’ versions of these popular children’s stories!

This week’s Flannel Friday Roundup is being hosted by the very talented folks at Library Village!
