March – SPRING!

Here are the songs and rhymes we are playing with this month!

Finger Rhyme: “Here is a Bunny”

Here is a bunny with ears so funny
(make fingers into bunny ears)
And here is a hole in the ground
(use other hand to make an ‘o’ shape)
When a noise he hears,
He pricks up his ears,
And he jumps in the hole in the ground!
(Put bunny ear hand into the hole in your other hand)

Ukulele Song: “If All the Raindrops”

If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops,
Oh what a rain it would be!
I’d stand outside,
With my mouth open wide!
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!
If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops,
Oh what a rain it would be!

(Source: ok, it’s from Barney. I know, but it is a great song.)

Bouncing Rhyme: “My Little Red Wagon”

Bumpin downtown in my little red wagon,
Bumpin downtown in my little red wagon,
Bumpin downtown in my little red wagon,
Bumpety bumpety bumpety bumpety bump bump bump!

Front wheel’s off and the axel’s broken….

(Traditional)

Song: “Four Little Ducks”

Four little ducks went out one day,
Over the hills and far away,
Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack”
But only three little ducks came waddling back!

Three little ducks… etc.

(Traditional)

Song: “Come Under My Umbrella”

Come under my umbrella, umbrella, umbrella,
Come under my umbrella, it’s starting to rain.
With thunder and lightning, with thunder and lightning,
Come under my umbrella, it’s starting to rain!

Scarf Song: “There’s a Bird in the Air!”

There’s a bird in the air, in the air,
There’s a bird in the air, in the air,
There’s a bird in the air, now he’s flying in my hair!
There’s a bird in my hair from the air!

There’s a bird in my hand, in my hand… that is where he chose to land…
There’s a bird on my shoe, on my shoe… what should I do?…
There’s a bird on my tummy… let’s send him home to Mummy!

Scarf Rhyme: “Scarves all Around”

Up and down, round and round,
Drop your scarf on the ground,
Over, under, in-between,
Now my scarf cannot be seen!
Scarf in front, scarf behind, now my scarf cannot be found!
It’s in my left hand, in my right
My lovely scarf is back in sight!

Let’s Move: “Did You Ever See a Rabbit?”
Tune: “Did You Ever See a Lassie?”

Did you ever see a rabbit, a rabbit, a rabbit,
Did you ever see a rabbit, hopping so FAST?

Slow… high… low… around….

(Traditional)
