Not A Stick
by Antoinette Portis
It has been a tough couple of weather weeks for our area – but the time stuck inside has been productive for me since I am lucky enough to have power and water and heat!
I have been busily making several flannel sets that others have shared on Flannel Friday! Can’t wait to use them when our Story Times get back into a regular routine. Thank you to all of the very creative Story Time leaders out there who have shared so many great ideas!
A few weeks ago I shared my Flannel-ized milk filter set for the book Not A Box by Antoinette Portis. And here today I have made a similar set for Not A Stick, also by Antoinette Portis.
The first trick was figuring out how to get a STICK to STICK!
I cut a wooden skewer to size and wrapped it with blue yarn, secured with tacky glue. It sticks to the felt board really well!
The pig is made of felt and puffy paint. The Starry Night painting was color copied onto paper and laminated. It sticks to the easel using velcro. The other pieces were all traced directly out of the book onto milk filters using a blue crayon.
This week Storytime ABC is hosting the Flannel Friday Roundup. Thank you for hosting Kay Leigh!
